Shodashottari Dasha & Kalachakra

Sarva Samshobhana

Once we apply the results to the model, we can see the root cause of the manifestation clearly

  • Sankarshna        = Purusha + Tamas      = 25

  • Pradyumna        = Purusha + Rajas        = 23

  • Aniruddha          = Purusha + Sattva      = 24

24 represents the equilibrium state; we can observe that the fluctuation in the Tamas (it is said that Tamas dropped or got heavier to propel creation, represented here as 25 > 24), disturbs (Samshobhana) the inherent balance within Avyakta Vasudeva, setting off the reaction that leads to material manifestation;  the Vyakta Vasudeva. We can also see that the Sattva is not impacted, it stays at 24, but it is the Rajas (23) response to the Tamas fluctuation (25) that is causing the manifestation to happen.

The magic and the application of the Dasha system is further unlocked by a deeper understanding of the Kala Chakra.

Iccha, Jnana & Kriya Shakti

We can see that the Dasha weights are perfectly balancing the wheel of time

  • Sun and Venus are on the E-W axis for a total of 29.

  • Jupiter and Moon are on the N-S Axis with a total of 29.

  • Mars and Mercury are on one side with a total of 29

  • and so are Saturn and Ketu on the other side with a total of 29.

To propagate time and its Maya, Rahu is turning the axle of the wheel. This is the Iccha shakti of Devi leveraging the Jnana shakti of Time to experiencing its Kriya Shakti.

This turning of the wheel brings forth the Gunas from emanation to experience, this also implies that this Dasha system is explaining the experience of the Gunas by the Jiva-atma. As there are no Tattvas, Tanmatras or Bhutas that have been used to compose the system, this is not about experiencing the Physical Matter rather it is the quality of time that is experienced.

Kalachakra

A crucial point here is that this is not exactly the configuration of the kala chakra that we generally see wherein Rahu occupies the Northeast Kona, Ketu is the upward direction and lagna is the downward direction. The directions themselves do not exist yet from the Param-atma’s perspective and it is the Jiva-atma that experiences direction.

The standard configuration we know is from the Jiva-atma’s perspective of experiencing the Gunas emanating from the Kalachakra and Ketu being the means of escape is showing the way by connecting to the axle that is turning the wheel and thus escaping the grip of time. The Sankarshna + Tamas, Pradyumna + Rajas and the Anniruddha + Sattva gunas give the three layers of the Causal (Energy), Subtle (Pranic) and the Physical bodies respectively as depicted in the three layers of the Kalachakra.

This also gives us a clue that the Kalachakra, the 28 Nakshatra system and the divisional chart such as the D45 are crucial for deciphering the fruits shown by the Shodashottari Dasha System.

Akshavedamsha Shloka

Rishi Parashara teaches that the deities of the D45 or the Akshavedamsha varga are Brahma, Maheshwar and Vishnu for the movable signs, Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma for Fixed and Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva for the Dual signs repeated 15 times.

It is no surprise that the dash system rooted in the mechanics of Devi’s creation process is understood by the Kala chakra. A yantra that holds the promise and the secrets to free the Jiva-atma from the Maya of the creation.
